Mini Art Book

I am a little slow to post it, but this my little book from
the Mini Art class I did with
Wendy Vecchi at For Keeps Sake
in St. Louis this past month. It was so much fun! We used
one of the new chipboard books from
Maya Road, some of
Wendy's new stamps, and several of the new Tim Holtz
Distress Inks
on this project.

I changed the title to "Make Art with" and added a
charm and Wendy's photo.

Close up of cover.

I goofed up with my stamp (not too uncommon with
me and rubber stamps) and the word "Art" did not
stamp so I painted some chipboard letters and glued
them on top to the "goofed-up" area.

I added one of Tim Holtz charms "Inspire" to the "safety
pin" and some die-cut circles from a pattern piece,
along with a Jenni Bowlin button.

I put
Fired Brick Crackle paint (Tim Holtz) on the
letters. I threaded the chipboard "needle" and hung a
love charm on it.

I hung antique gold heart charms through the holes.
Loved that!

Happy Mother's Day to my Daughters

Happy Mother's Day to my two beautiful daughters,
Tammy and Deanna.  You both are amazing moms
-- as well as very talented and creative women that
go the extra mile in everything you do.  You have
given me so much joy and filled my life with wonderful
memories.

"BUT, my greatest accomplishment, and my
greatest pride and joy are my children. They
truly are my greatest success."

A Mother's Love

In memory of my Mom -- gone but not
forgotten (1919 - 1966)

A Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Original early Georg Jensen Jewelry!

Original early Georg Jensen Jewelry!

Original silver Georg Jensen pendant design no. 54 with labradorite. Early period!

design Nº 54

Since Georg Jensen (1866-1935) founded his silversmith workshop in 1904, jewellery from the workshop has adhered to his motto: "Do not follow fashion, but be guided by the present if you want to stay young in the struggle". Ever since then, Georg Jensen's jewellery has reflected the period in which it was created. Just as the last century was distinguished by different periods, Georg Jensen's jewellery represents the different styles that appeared over the years.
