The Story of US

Here's the cover of the mini album that I have been working on and it's The Story of US..

I have altered the oval frame by adding some white pearls to it.. burnt the edges of golden paper ..used a special heart shaped hanging object that's called 'Latkan' .. I'm not sure but I think that is added on dresses but it's so pretty so I got it for my project.  Recycled a box chipboard to make this cover.

More pics of the complete project..

Spring Tag [from scraps]

I love the Spring Jubilee Collection from Pink Paislee.  I had some scraps left over from my Timeless Treasures class this month and thought I would make a tag.

The tag is decorated using scraps mostly from the "Shindig" and "Soiree" papers.  I used scraps of yellow cardstock  for the flowers, and a dark pink for the trim on the bottom of the tag.

Other supplies: Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, and Mustard Seed; Champagne (may be discontinued) and Yellow Stickles; Zip Dry Paper Glue; brads for flower centers; and silicon glue for layering. Tag was cut from the Sizzix Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates die, and flowers from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.

Shopaholic

I have made a shopping bag for the next page of my mini album and I was having so much fun making  the bag that I even made a smaller version just for fun.

The backside of the shopping bag is glued to the page and the bottom portion opens when the bag is opened..
Inside it has a booklet ..

Mother's Day Challenge

Happy Mother's Day! I am truly blessed to have had a wonderful mother--and in turn, have two daughters who are wonderful mothers as well.  What I would have given for my mom to have lived long enough to share this great journey with me, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She would have been so proud.

I was delighted this week when Tammy invited me to be a guest artist on the Sizzix blog and join her in a Mother's Day challenge.  We were each to create something using the same 3 dies:   Tim Holtz Tag & BookplateDistressed Doily, and Tattered Florals.

It was great fun--and here are the results!  This is Tammy's . . .

and this is mine . . .
Read all the details here, and if you would like to have a tutorial for making Tammy's tag, visit here.  I can't wait to make one, too!  Thank you Tammy for inviting me to participate--I loved it!

Red "Charmed" Necklace

I just finished a necklace I have been working on in my spare time.  I had quite a few red glass beads left over from some other projects and selected this for using some of those leftover beads.   Finished length is 26.25" with 178 beaded drops, or charms.  I have spread it out so you can see the variation of charms, but when wearing it, they will all hang down and look pretty.

Dresser

This is a dresser, another one of my own made template.  To hold it down to the page I have added a gold color clip on top.  Made a pocket behind it to add the photo mat.

This is how it looks when it stands out ..

For My Special Friend

This card I have made for my special friend Manju .. also as a guest DT for Crafty JC Challenge.  The challenge is to make a card for a special lady (could be anyone whom you admire) to celebrate Mother's day.  I used Sarah Kay image and colored it using mixed media technique so you could see markers, pencil colors and glitter paint used in the image.  I have also added my handmade flower to it.

My handmade flower...

Sarah Kay image , dressing up and trying to look special..

Closer look of the trunk and the bear..

We all are lucky to have special friend to share worries, make plans and discuss girly stuff.  I hope my friend and you like it too.

Romantic Victorian Jewelry in The Garden of Adin

Romantic Victorian Jewelry
in The Garden of Adin

Antique painted romantic miniature enameled pin diamond from the antique jewelry collection of Adin Antique Jewelry Store, Antwerp, Belgium

Adin, a wealth of jewelry and information

Originally the term "Victorian jewelry" was designated for articles of jewelry made in the United Kingdom during the reign of Queen Victoria, but not all of the many varieties produced during her long reign, 1837-1901, are now generally classified as Victorian jewelry. These days in the international antique jewelry trade the pieces now called Victorian jewelry are not necessarily made in the United Kingdom. The term "Victorian Jewelry" became a term used for European jewelry made in the 19th century rather then the description of a certain style-movement in a specific country.
