Tim Holtz Creative Exploration of the Caribbean

Hi, everybody!  I hope you are having a fabulous day!  It is a little chilly here, perhaps a little taste of the coming winter.  Missouri is a beautiful state this time of the year.  Yesterday I spent an incredible day driving around and looking at the beautiful fall colors.

I just finished taking photos of the creative projects we did with Tim Holtz on the Caribbean cruise recently.  I thought you might like to see them as well.  It was truly a trip of a life time, and I shall never forget it.

Here is my take on the configuration tray.  I have done one before and love using the tissue tape but thought I might try doing something a little different with it.  It may not even show, but instead of wrapping the tissue tape directly to the edges  like I did on the first tray I made, I decided to wrap the tape on 1/4" strips of bass wood. I cut the tissue-covered strips to fit,  and then glued them over the edges on the tray.  I then inked over everything like I normally do.  Then I added lots of shells, sand and other goodies I had.  The images in some of the backgrounds are from Graphic 45 "On the Boardwalk" Collection.

Close ups of each section of the tray . . . .
Tim is so clever with this idea.  We created a little mini album in one of the largest boxes in the configuration tray.

The word "sand" is from the wood letters that Tim gave us.  I applied Glossy Accents to each letter and sprinkled sand on top.  I let them dry and glued them standing up.

Background is a Florida map showing Port Canaveral where our port was.

I took a close-up of the seahorse so you could see the details.  I got it recently from a friend.  It is a beautiful piece of jewelry and perfect for this tray.

I loved  making this!  I decided to put it in my configuration tray, so changed out the inside to go with the theme of the box.   I used an image from the Graphic 45 "On the Boardwalk" collection for the background, some sand and tiny shells.  The "create moments" is from the Tim Holtz stamp "Stuff to Say" from Stampers Anonymous.

The is the gate-fold pocket journal/album that we made.  I still have some photos and memorabilia to add to it yet.  I will show you the rest of it in a few days.
