Brilliant rust and scarlet cloaks
are weighing down the arms of oaks,
are weighing down the arms of oaks,
While up and down the dusty road
Lie mounds of aspen's lovely gold.
The birches white and stately stand,
Lending their glow on every hand.
Orange and flame are the maples' crowns,
Fragile and light, fluttering down.
But the pines remain unchanged, serene,
Forming the background of evergreen.
