A Look at Our Favorite Vintage Pins

In bygone times, brooches – or pins – were instrumental to hold two pieces of cloth together. Functional jewelry, they would help keep out the cold while ornately closing a coat or shirt. As the clothing fashions changed, the ornamental nature of the pin made it perfect for the collector who wanted to wear striking ornamentation on the chest or near the neck. At Peter Suchy Jewelers, we offer a wide variety of pins that are sure to appeal to any collector.

Pink and Green Gold Owl Pin

This pretty little piece is whimsical and is made from 9k pink and green gold. The owl’s eyes are made of rubies. Sitting on a fence, the detail work is what makes this piece so stunning. Ranking high on the pink gold and green gold scales, the hues are easy to see and differentiate.

Leopard Druzy Quartz Leaf Pin

The setting material is 18k solid yellow gold. The quartz has been cut into an attractive leaf shape. Three round diamonds weighing in at .30cts add sparkle to the stem section of the leaf. Due to the coloration, this is the perfect fall piece to wear during harvest festivities.

Tiffany & Co. Gold Feather Pin

Fashioned from 14k yellow gold, the craftsmanship of Tiffany & Co. is once again easy to pick out from a crowd. The detailed rendition of the feather is second to none. Made in Germany, this pin has been handmade. This is the perfect accessory for a multi-colored blouse.

Gold Flower Pin Featuring Rubies, Emeralds and Sapphires

This beautiful flower bouquet is perfect for the collector who loves floral adornment. The setting is fashioned from 18k pink gold. Ten carefully cut blue sapphires weigh in at 1.50cts. Another ten round emeralds weigh 1.20cts. Finally, 10 round rubies weigh 1.50cts. These gemstones make up the beautifully bright flowers. Twelve round full-cut diamonds weighing .60cts bring a sparkle to the pin that you cannot miss. Because of the distinct design elements, we believe that this vintage pin dates back to 1940s’ France.

Gold Bow Pin with Pendant Watch

We have dated this Cartier-signed pin to the 1930s. Made of green and pink gold in delicate hues, the pin holds a lever set ball type watch that is held by a pink-gold chain. The timepiece can be dated between 1900 and 1930. It has been serviced and is in great condition. An old-mine-cut diamond adds sparkle to this functional pin. This is a definite collector’s item that you do not want to miss.
