Our Favorite Vintage Marquise Cut Jewelry

Gemstones featuring a marquise cut are famous for the elliptical shape that calls for unique settings. This modified brilliant cut first caught on in the 18th century but was soon forgotten. It experienced a renaissance in the 1970s. Have it set vertically for a dramatic look or opt for the east to west display. At Peter Suchy Jewelers, we carry a wide variety of marquise cut jewelry that is sure to fit your needs.

Sapphire and Diamond Ring

This cocktail ring features a setting of 14k solid yellow gold. Dating back to the 1960s, this piece of estate jewelry features 42 baguette-cut diamonds weighing .50cts. The star of this ring is a marquise-cut blue sapphire weighing 1.15cts. This is a striking piece that gets noticed.

Sapphire and Diamond Earrings

Fourteen-karat yellow gold is the setting for the blue sapphires that weigh 1.50cts. The marquise-cut stones are surrounded by 32 round full-cut diamonds that weigh .24cts. These earrings are for pierced ears. The yellow gold beautifully shows off the blue of the stones.

Diamond Engagement Ring with Halo Micro Pave

If there is an engagement in your future, this ring might be the perfect gift. The setting is made of 14k white gold. The marquise-cut diamond weighs in at 0.67cts. Another 37 full-cut diamonds weigh in at .25cts and make up the halo and pave. This is a Sylvie style ring that we date to the 1960s.

Jadeite Jade Flower Pin

Solid 14k rose gold is the setting material for the marquise-cut jadeite jade. On the one to 10 scale, the rose gold scores a 4.5. Careful detail work creates the illusion of a budding flower. The green color of the jade furthers this illusion. This is a beautiful piece to wear in spring and really anytime that you have a need for an elegant accessory.

Sapphire and Diamond Dangle Earrings

The artisan fashioned these pieces with 18k solid white gold as the setting material. Golden yellow sapphire briolettes in marquise cutdangle inside the white gold setting. They weigh about 1.27cts. A total of 42 diamonds weighing .31cts provide lustrous sparkle. They are arranged in a gorgeous pave that brings out the shine of the sapphires.
